Hamilton Lane’s Erik Hirsch Foresees Decades of Growth in Private Markets
Erik Hirsch, co-CEO of Hamilton Lane, predicts sustained expansion in private markets, citing diversification into retail and new asset classes. The veteran investor, who joined the firm in 1999 when it had just 25 employees, has witnessed its evolution from pure-play private equity to encompassing infrastructure and real estate.
"Private markets are scaling across multiple dimensions," Hirsch told Barry Ritholtz on the Masters in Business podcast. His trajectory from Brown Brothers Harriman investment banker to leading a firm with 800 employees mirrors the sector's maturation.
